Founder and Director, Thabang Ngobeni and Deputy Director, Lebohang Malefane from Mamelodi East formed an NGO called Student Motives in 2015 with the aim to promote reading and also other forms of literature in the community. The organisation is currently running with a team of six members.
“Through our background and how we were raised as well as the struggle we see in the society, we want to tackle challenges and make change, we want to produce free thinkers, promote critical decision makers, we want to create a new forms of fighting drugs and substance abuse”, said Thabang Ngobeni, Director and Founder of the organisation.
He added that they want to enhance young thinking abilities and create a community of believers and innovators.
The NGO has before created programs where they donated clothes and school shoes to Matimba Community Care Centre, Cleaned the community clinic and Stanza Bopape High School, donated books at Ekhaya Lami Le Themba in Soshanguvhea and donated two wheelchairs to Itumeleng Monareng from Mamelodi East RDP.
The Director and Founder says in few years’ time they want to see their NGO as one of the leading NGO’s in the industry with fresh, creative and innovative initiatives. He added they are hoping to receive funds this year 2019, to donate toys and shoes during the festive season.
